NICHOLAS YOU ROCKED AGAIN!! MARRY ME LOL
EXCELLENT MOVIE!!! :D
I loved Nicholas and Jay's chemistry.. actually Nic and his chemistry with everybody was good!!
Awesome and epic scenes can carry the audience through the entire two hour long film without hesitation!!
Pitch-perfect performancs from the cast!!
Jay- great improvement and awesome work. would definately like to see him in more action movies.
Nic- basically carries the whole movie by himself!!! especially his crying scenes, and his chemistry with his daughter!!!!!! fantastic job!
Chi Gor- stands by himself and pownes the whole supporting cast!!!!
I just watched this movie and literally fell in love with Nicholas Tse all over again. All i can say is he delivers a stellar performance, from his crying scenes (which made me cry) to the great chemistry he had with Jay, I just know that he is the most important piece of the movie. Jay Chou got to me too. He was great and a lot better than Sato in The Gren Hornet. He can definately put down the romance-drama genre and just do action movies from now on! Lui Kai Chi... you never fail to amaze me when it comes to acting, even when its just a supporting role.
A must see!!!!
THE PERFECT ACTING IS ALL I CAN SAY!!!!
JAY: TOTALLY BRINGS VIEWERS IN SEEING A WHOLE NEW SIDE OF HIM- HIS ACTING SIDE. I MEAN FROM THE GREEN HORNET, I THOUGH "EW JAY" BUT NOW AFTER WATCHING HIM AS MAN FEI, I DEFINATELY SEE AN IMPROVEMENT!! GOOD JOB JAY!
NIC: CAN A PERFECT ACTOR GET ANY MORE PERFECT? YES! NIC PROVES HIMSELF AS ONE OF THE YOUNGEST AND BEST ACTORS TO WALK THE EARTH. HIS VILLAIN ROLES CARRIES A 2D PERSONALITY AND CHEMISTRY BETWEEN HIS FAMILY SPARKS. CRYING SCENES, SAVING SCENES, KILLING SCENES, AND JUST THOSE LITTLE HUMOUR SCENES PROVES IS EXCELLENCE AS MAN YEUNG!! EXCELLENT WORK NIC! HOPE TO SEE HIM WIN A BEST ACTOR!!
LUI KAI CHI: BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR SUPPORT ALL THE WAY! ALTHOUGH HE IS ONLY IN HALF OF THE MOVIE, HE PROVES ONCE AGAIN THAT EVEN A SUPPORTING ROLE CAN EARN HIM A LOT OF PRAISES. WISH HE DIDNT DIE THOUGH :( GREAT WORK CHI GOR!
Who would have ever thought that hong Kong can make such an awesome movie? Who would have ever thought Jay Chou can act? And who would have ever thought Nicholas Tse can get even better in acting than he already is? Certainly not me... until this movie!!!!
5 STARS ALL THE WAY FOR A GREAT AND CREATIVE STORY LINE AND ITS GREAT LEADS- JAY AND NIC! GOOD JOB GUYS!!!!
GAHHHH I FORGOT TO CHANGE THE RATING CUZ I WAS SO FOCUSED ON THE REVIEW!
I MEANT TO GIVE IT A FIVE STARS. NOT TWO AND A HALF!!!!
5 STARS ALL THE WAY!
AWESOME WICKED MOVIE!!!!!
JAY CHOU WAS AMAZING WHILE NICHOLAS STANDS AS A STRONG AND CONFIDENT ACTOR!!
JAY'S GREAT IMPROVEMENT IN ACTING IS SEEN IN THIS FILM BUT I HAVE TO BE HONEST, NICHOLAS CAN JUST CARRY THE WHOLE THING BY HIMSELF!! HE WAS EXCELLENT AND GOOD CHEMISTRY IS EVIDENT.
I give this movie TWO THUMBS WAY UP!!!
It had a great story line that flowed. All the emotions were present and the ACTION was non-stop and BELIEVEABLE!!!
All did an AWESOME job... from showing emotion to the stunts. You can feel they really had great chemistry. JAY - I was very impressed with this role here and he did an excellent job. NIC - WOW from the crying scene and the stunts...great acting!!!
LINGO & LOCATION:
I was happy to hear lots of English and other languages. The subtitiles were very good here in the US, thank you!!! I like that they were really on location in different parts of the world.
Dante Lam...I will remember to watch your films in the future!!! GREAT JOB!!!
The Viral Factor ROCKS, with its explosive and exciting sequences which kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the movie! Seriously, it felt like a big-budget Hollywood blockbuster but it was made at a fraction (only US$17m!) of the cost.
But what makes any movie memorable will always be the human interest aspect and this is where Dante Lam is ace as well.
The narrative about the Wan family's breakdown and eventual closure is heart-tugging but believable.
Some may find the mix of languages used (English, Mandarin, Cantonese, a smattering of Malay and even Arabic!) a tad confusing but the subtitles are excellent and easily followed.
I feel that it brings a touch of realism to the movie, as I've been brought up in a multi-lingual and multicultural society and I converse like that with the people I come in contact with.
As for the actors, what else can I say??
Nicholas Tse is quite a young veteran of movies by now and it shows. His portrayal of Wan Yang is feral yet compelling.
Jay Chou, on his part, has proven he can do an action movie, convincingly, in spite of what he says about himself not being suited to such roles. I'm necessarily biased but his performance was definitely a step up even from The Green Hornet. It was really good to see him all tough-guy and dirty but his scenes with his family are heartfelt, especially with his mother, Nick and his niece.
The supporting actors are in a class of their own, from the Wan family members to the rest of the bad/good guys.
All in, this is a Chinese New Year movie with a difference. If you want action with heart, go for The Viral Factor. I watched it twice, both times equally moved. Intend to go again.
Just to note: There is a photobook and novelisation of this movie. The info is in multistars forum's Jay Discussions. Check them out!
